Swim Team News
We made it through Time Trials and now it is time for the official meets to begin! Experienced Cuda families, please make sure to find some new Cuda families and give them your hints and suggestions for swim meets! I know they will be welcomed. There is also a "Survival Guide" on the website (ccracudas.org) if you have a chance to look at it.
This week we swim at Glencairn. The address is 17030 Keith Harrow. There is a school across the street from the pool and you can park there. We will warm up last so be there by 7:20 AM. You can still bring coolers, chairs and pop up tents. We wil try to load one team tent Friday night. If you have a pick up truck and could haul the team tent, please let Landa know. We will need to load it Friday night after practice.
Speaking of Friday night, please join us for a small pep rally to get ramped up for the meet. We will be introducing Big/Little Swim Buddies, and will be raffling off a parking spot for all home meets! For $5/ticket, you could get the best spot in the lot! We will also be working on a secret project. All I can say is prepare for battle! :) The pep rally will be short and we should be finished by 8. Please make plans to attend if possible.
For parents of 7/8/9/10 swimmers, there is a party at the pool tomorrow night (Thursday) and practice will be short. We will need to be out of the pool and the lane lines pulled by 7 pm. So come ready to swim hard because we will need to pack a lot of practice in a short amount of time.
We also wanted to give a big THANK YOU to the Moore Family. They recovered our starting blocks. The blocks look amazing! If you see the Moores, please make sure and let them know how much their work was appreciated.
A few volunteer positions are needed for the season. We are in need of someone to help as a runner and ribbon coordinator. A runner helps bring and take time sheets from the scribes to the computer area and vice versa. The ribbon coordinator would be in charge of organizing our teams ribbons for the following pep rally. If you think you would be interested in helping in either of these roles, please let Landa know. Her email is [email protected].
One last thing, if you had volunteered to help cut or sew fabric for the neck coolers, please see Judy Parks or call her at 281-970-0209. Also, if you are at the gas station or grocery store and could pick up a few scratch off tickets to donate, we would appreciate it. We are hoping to put together a couple of scratch off lottery baskets to sell at divisionals. If we start collecting now, we should have a pretty good stash by the end of the season. If you have some to donate, give them to Judy Parks or Katie Rohe.
Any questions? Just ask.
