Swim Team News
Congrats to all of the Cudas that swam in Saturday's meet. If you had not heard, we were victorious with a score of 322 versus Glencairn's 182. The hard work in practice really showed.
Our first home meet will be Saturday morning. More specific details about Saturday will be coming later this week, but we wanted to remind everyone that we will be needing LOTS of volunteers to pull this off. We need help in the kitchen,we need timers/scribes and we need a runner. Meet setup will start on Wednesday night during practice. We will finish with the tent on Friday during the pep rally. Everyone will need to help tear down after the meet as well on Saturday afternoon. If we all pitch in, it will go fast.
There will be a pep rally on Friday after practice. We will be having hot dogs, chips and drinks. Prices will vary depending on how many of each you need, but should not cost more than $5/person. A specific menu with exact prices will be sent out Wednesday. Please plan to attend as we will be handing out ribbons from last Saturday's meet. The pep rallies really are a great opportunity for the swimmers to spend time with their buddies and form a team bond through encouragement and fun activities. We will try to be finished around 8pm.
As a reminder, we have started a penny war between the different age divisions. At last week's pep rally, each age group was given a jug to decorate. Bring your pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters to any practice and fill your jug! Save your dollar bills for the other groups though as they count against the group total! To recap.. coins=good points, bills= negative points. The winning age group will get a pizza party and will get to throw some pies at Coach Lea,Randy, and parents from the losing groups!
A couple of short announcement/reminders:
*We WILL NOT have practice on Memorial Day.
*Swimmers, this is YOUR pool. Clean up after yourselves! There was a lot of candy wrappers and trash left Friday nightafter the pep rally. If you are old enough to swim, you are old enough to find a trash can for the trash!
*The pool has opened for the season. The current hours are Saturday 1pm -8pm and Sunday 1pm - 6pm. Once school lets out for the summer the schedule will be Tuesday - Thursday 11am-7pm and Friday/Saturday 1pm-8pm with Sunday 1pm-6pm.
*Buddies have been assigned. If you have not gotten yours yet, find Mrs. Miles (Wesley and Nolan's Mom).
