    First Day of Practice

    Today is the day!  The season begins with an April cold front as it has for the last several years!  The water is cool and the air temperature and wind are cooler, so bring a couple of towels or a bathrobe to warm these kids up.  When swimmers get out of the pool, get a cap on their head and socks on their feet as soon as you can.  This will help their bodies regulate their core body temperature and they will feel warm quicker. Swimming in cold water burns extra calories just trying to keep your body warm, so make sure they get a good balance of carbs, fats and proteins to build muscle and refuel their bodies.
