    Swim Team News 5/10

This week we will be hosting our first home meet of the season!  We will start preparing on Thursday and Friday evenings.  There are large canopies and tents to put up, chairs to arrange, grass to mow, bathrooms to clean and stock and many other little chores before a home meet.  The kids will have regular practice and then a poster making pep rally while we finish setting up.  The Cuda Cafe will be serving smoked chicken nacho plates with lemonade or tea for $5.

Saturday will start bright and early, we are home team, so we have early warm ups!  Be at the pool ready to swim, (shorts and shoes off, cap and goggles on) at 7:05 AM.  We will need everyone's help throughout the meet to fill all of our volunteer positions.  We need 10 people to time and/or scribe for each of 2 shifts.  Sign ups are available online (just click the "V" volunteer icon next to this week's meet in the "Events" section) or a paper sheet will be posted on the big blue bulletin board. We will also need help in the kitchen/concession area, at the computer table, and we need an announcer for the season.  It takes everyone's help to run a fun and successful meet.  If you don't know what to do, just ask and someone will guide you to a task.

You will need to bring goggles, cap, towel, sunscreen, maybe bug spray, hats to keep the sun off, and activities for the kids to do while waiting for their events.  You may bring coolers with food and drinks (no alcohol, no glass bottles!!) We will have full concessions running Saturday with our delicious brisket, hamburgers, hot dogs, and all kinds of good cold drinks.

Our team suits are available at D&J Sports on Spring Cypress near 249.  The suit is called Zephyr, but just tell them you're with Cypress Creek.  Team suits are not required, Some people just missed purchasing when D&J was at our pool.

If you haven't paid all of you team dues or made a payment arrangement with Randy Miles, please take care of that before Saturday.
