CYC v TWNL and other News
May 26th
Congratulations to our CUDAS who finished classes this year and especially to Nathan our CUDA senior! Parents that are teachers, hang in there! It's almost finished for you as well!
The News of the Weekend...
- Pep Rally is tonight! We will have pizza, salad, and bread. Ribbons will be passed out and the swimmers will have some fun activities. Food setup will begin around 6:30 and we will eat around 6:45.
- The pool is open this weekend for everyone. Several families are planning on coming up on Sunday for a picnic and swim starting around 1pm. Everyone is invited. Bring a potluck dish to share. See Brian Taylor for more info.
- Our swim meet tomorrow is at Towne Lake off of Barker Cypress and Tuckerton. If you are going down Barker Cypress away from 290, turn right on Tuckerton, a right on Towne Lake Parkway, and then a right to enter the pool/club house area right past the boat docks on your right. We are to set up in the blue swimmer tents area as seen on the attached map.
- With so much help needed just for the meet to run, we are going to need to tell our swimmers to stay together and look after one another. Older swimmers should be able to help the youngers get to the ready bench, etc... We will really need to take the village concept in getting everyone to where they need to be.
- It is going to be the warmest meet so far this season. Make sure you have plenty of water, fruit, and sunscreen!
- Their concession stand is run by Chickfila. They have a limitied menu and also a limited quantity and they will take cash or credit card. I have also attached the menu to this email.
- Towne Lake has a bunch of swimmers, so I am anticipating this meet to also be a longer one than the others have been. Bring something for your swimmers to do in between races (card games, coloring books, etc...).
- Summer Thunder is a mid-season invitational meet that will be June 4th and June 5th (Sunday and Monday) at Klein High School. If your swimmer has qualified, you should have gotten an email from me yesterday. Tomorrow counts for qualification purposes and I will make sure every parent of swimmers that qualifies is notified. We will need a final decision of yay or nay tomorrow evening. Each event your swimmer enters costs $5. Please see Brian Taylor for payment.
I feel like I am missing something kind of important, but I can't figure out what it is at the moment. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! It is probably the same question another parent is thinking!
Thanks,
Katie
