Divisionals Meet this Saturday!
Good afternoon Barracudas!
I’ve got a bunch of information about the divisionals meet for you. I know it is a “wall of text” but please read through.
Location
Campbell Middle School, 11415 Bobcat Rd, Houston, TX It is across the street from Pridgeon Stadium/CyFair Natatorium.
Setup and Parking
Parking for families is across Bobcat Road in the stadium parking lot.An officer will be available to stop traffic and allow safe crossing.Parking for officials only is available in the front of the school.Drop off is not allowed in the back of the school – it is reserved for organizers equipment drop off, and that lot will be closed once the meet starts with no driving allowed, as kids will be in that lot during the meet.
We will be setting up in the Campbell commons area. There is an area set off for each team, we will be in the southwest corner of the room (see the map attached), near concessions and the stage. CFISD has requested that we stay off the dark gray tiled areas – this will allow open walkways in case of emergency and to get to the ready bench. Bring folding chairs, a cooler, blankets, maybe a pillow; no cots, recliners, hammocks, or mattresses are allowed.
There will be caution tape blocking off certain areas of the school. Please stay out of those areas. One special note - please stay off the wooden floors of the gym and the stage. The CFISD rep let us know several times it is $10,000 to refinish those floors if they get wet, so please please stay off!
Food
There will be concessions available, including burgers and hot dogs.Bring other snacks and drinks as your family needs.
Warm-up
Warm up is at 7:15-7:40.Please plan to arrive early, the natatorium is at the far end of the parking lot and building. Circle-in will be at our team space in the commons, and then swimmers will join Coach Alicia at the pool. Swimmers will enter the natatorium from the outside doors via the ready bench area.Parents will enter the natatorium from the hallway inside near the gymnasium and exit the far end of the natatorium. There isn’t much space, so please watch your swimmer and then exit so the next group of parents can watch their swimmers.
During the meet
Please check any posted results for your child’s times. If there are any discrepancies, please let me or Coach Alicia know ASAP – there is a very limited time for any changes.
You may want to bring extra towels or a sweatshirt – it gets cold inside when you are small and wet! – and games or activities for your swimmer to help pass the time between events.
Parents can use the indoor hallway to reach the natatorium viewing area.
Awards
There will be volunteers working on awards throughout the meet. They will be sorted and given to the teams at the end of the meet.
Please also volunteer for jobs. Most are familiar, a few are new. We cannot run this meet without your help. Your help will make the meet run more efficiently and we get home sooner! Jobs are listed on the website – please go there and sign up in the usual way. We have to know we have people to do the jobs, so if you can do it, don’t wait until Saturday to volunteer!
If you have made it this far, thank you a bunch for reading everything. Please see attached maps for locations at Campbell. If you have questions, please email or ask at practice. Good luck Barracudas!
