Friday, FRIDAY, fRiDay!
I can not believe the CUDAS have made it to their first dual meet! I am so proud of all the progress they have made at practice and time trials! If your child is swimming breastroke or butterfly at the meet, remind them to touch with two hands; if they are swimming backstroke remind them that they have to touch on their back. Thank you for your support at home. Friday, I will need "hand watchers" for our pre-meet practice.
Friday is going to look a little different since we will be passing out team shirts, have individual and team pictures, and try to get a practice in. Whew! Individual and family pictures can be taken as early as 4:45 PM. The CUDA's team picture will be taken at 5:30 PM. There will be a little time for individual pictures after, but the photographer needs to pool to be still when taking photographs and our CUDA's need to be able to get in a few starts and turns. I would like to have a brief parent meeting between pictures and practice, about 5:45PM. So, we will have ALL practice at 6:00-7:00 Advanced/Intermediate, 6:00-6:30 Beginners. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate non- swimmers during Friday practices. At 7, we will do our team cheer and go home, so that our swimmers can be in bed by 9PM.
Practice starting May 17 - I need all 10 and Under's to practice at the 6:10 practice. I am going to extend it to 7:00 PM! I originally set the practices up by age group, Advanced (11+), Intermediate (10 and under) and Beginner (6 and under/non-swim). This will make practices run more smoothly. I have a plan for my more "advanced" 10 and under swimmers, but I need them to swim with their age group at 6:10 PM. If you have a question about where your swimmer needs to be starting next week, just ask me before or after practice this week.
I truly love coaching each and every CUDA swimmer! They all have their different personalities that make our team complete. Thank you for allowing me to help make them better swimmers and accomplish their swimming goals this summer!
Swim fast, CUDAS!
Coach Alicia
